March Greetings! Many of you have asked about my design process, so I thought I would try to describe that weird, wonderful experience. Of course, I love a statement piece. I usually dress in classic, monochromatic clothes with the focus on accessories. However, as my ever-changing design aesthetic has evolved and aged with me, I like more simple, wearable every day art. What that means is that I want to wear an artful piece every day. And for my friends, customers, and myself that usually involves something smaller than a statement piece. I try to offer all sizes for all tastes that fit into every day living. With that said, I begin designing any said piece by deciding color scheme and if/what vintage piece I'd like to integrate with the cab artwork. Then the bead weaving begins. I use mostly the peyote stitch and each bead is sewn on one bead at a time with needle and thread. I treat my bead weaving like painting and each row of beads is a different color. I love the multicolor impressionistic results, and i hope you do too. This month I'm continuing with beloved beasts subject matter evolving into mythical creatures, then full circle to our much loved cats and dogs.
